Summary

Induced eosinophilia, a condition with increased eosinophils, shows a protective effect against amebic abscess of the liver (AAL) in gerbils. This suggests eosinophils may play a crucial role in combating invasive amebiasis.

  • Intraportal inoculation of Entamoeba histolytica trophozoites was performed.

  • Further research is warranted to elucidate the mechanisms of eosinophil-mediated protection against Entamoeba histolytica.
