Abstract:
The selection criteria and treatment of a form of vestibular disorder labeled 'disabling positional vertigo' (DPV) are given. Microvascular decompression of the auditory-vestibular nerve in 207 patients with DPV resulted in a cure rate of 79%. However, most of the patients with DPV (approximately 80%) were successfully treated by medication.
