Abstract:
Over the past 10 years there have been significant advances in the understanding of multiple mechanisms in endothelial dysfunction and the association of endothelial dysfunction with a wide spectrum of cardiovascular diseases. An overview of normal endothelial function and endothelial dysfunction, and a unifying model to illustrate the cascade of events that occur in the coronary artery disease process are presented.
