Long-term follow-up of paraplegic patients with vesico-ureteric reflux

A long-term survey (mean follow-up greater than 12 years) is presented of cord injury patients with reflux up to the kidney (grades 2 and 3). Of 39 patients 17 developed renal damage. There is no evidence that permanent urethral catheters protect kidneys from subsequent damage.
