Mucins and calcium phosphate precipitates additively stimulate cholesterol crystallization

Human biliary mucins and calcium salt precipitates significantly accelerate cholesterol gallstone formation. Other proteins like calcium binding protein (CBP) have minimal impact on this rapid crystallization process.
