Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection can cause pruritus, or itching, in patients, often presenting as non-specific skin lesions or xerosis. This study highlights that cholestasis doesn't solely explain these symptoms, suggesting other factors related to HCV or its treatments may be involved.
