Summary

Coiled bodies (CBs) in amphibian oocytes contain the protein p80-coilin, which binds U7 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP). This interaction facilitates U7 snRNP transport to histone gene loci on chromosomes for transcription.

Background:
