Abstract:
One-third of the patients seen in health care settings in a year also use alternative therapies. This article outlines ways to evaluate alternative therapies, including general resources that may be used for future reference, and discusses implications for practice and policy. Integrating alternative therapies into practice at several levels, from assessment to research, is examined, as are guidelines for helping patients chose alternative therapies.
