Background:

  • Hemangiopericytoma (HPC) is a rare vascular tumor.
  • Dermal HPCs are exceptionally uncommon, presenting diagnostic challenges.

Observation:

  • A case of a polypoid dermal lesion with HPC features is presented.
  • Histologic, immunohistochemical, and ultrastructural analyses were performed.

Findings:

  • The dermal lesion displayed features consistent with hemangiopericytoma.
  • It was histologically distinct from meningioma-like skin tumors and canine HPC.

Implications:

  • This case expands the understanding of rare dermal neoplasms.
  • Highlights the importance of comprehensive analysis for accurate diagnosis of cutaneous HPC.
