This is the second in a series which takes a broad view of dental care for the young patient. The first article discussed priorities and disease prevention; this article goes on to look at the contribution made to the provision of high-quality dental care by early diagnosis of dental disease and deformity. Methods of facilitating early diagnosis are also discussed.
