Plasma exchange effectively reversed severe vascular rejection in a pediatric kidney transplant recipient. This treatment offers a promising option for children with steroid-resistant vascular rejection, despite limited evidence.

Findings:

  • Plasma exchange demonstrated efficacy in reversing acute vascular rejection in this pediatric case.
  • The patient did not respond to high-dose corticosteroids during the rejection episode.
