Abstract:
Approximately 50% of patients recovering from acute myocardial infarction have significant left ventricular systolic dysfunction and could benefit considerably from the long-term administration of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors. This article summarizes the evidence for the use of these drugs and addresses the practical issues involved in their administration.
