Spectrophotometric and chromatographic determinations of kanamycin A in pharmaceutical preparations
Abstract:
Acid hydrolysis of kanamycin A gives 5-aminomethylfurfural which can be determined quantitatively colorimetricaly by the colour complex with orcinol and FeCl3. This method gives results which correlate with the results of microbiological assay. Kanamycin B, tobramycin kasugamycin did not produce this colour reaction.
