Summary

Microglia precursors in the developing rat hippocampus follow specific spatial and temporal gradients, appearing earlier in Ammon's horn than the dentate gyrus. These cells differentiate and distribute according to neurodevelopmental patterns, suggesting roles in axonal reorganization.
