Children with epilepsy, including complex partial seizure disorder (CPS) and primary generalized epilepsy with absences (PGE), show higher rates of psychiatric diagnoses compared to controls. Psychopathology in these children is linked to lower IQ and socioeconomic status, not seizure activity.
