  • Nine split-half reliability estimates were calculated for two distinct self-report facial imagery questionnaires.

  • These reliability coefficients were deemed only marginally acceptable for the assessment of facial imagery.

Conclusions:

  • The marginally acceptable reliability of current self-report facial imagery questionnaires may be a contributing factor to the weak observed correlations with face recognition memory.
  • Future research should consider more robust measures of facial imagery to better understand its relationship with memory performance.
