Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To characterize the extent and heterogeneity of hypoxia in human prostate carcinomas.
  • To utilize Eppendorf microelectrodes for in vivo oxygen measurements.

  • Used custom-made Eppendorf pO2 microelectrodes for measurements in 12 prostate cancer patients.
  • Obtained approximately 100 pO2 readings per patient, totaling 2145 measurements.
