Mammary anterior mediastinal pseudotumor

Dense, small breasts in young women may project into the anterior mediastinum in the lateral projection and simulate an anterior mediastinal mass. Recognition of the rather characteristic appearance of this shadow will obviate unnecessary concern and consequent investigative procedures.
