Summary

Interleukin-16 (IL-16) levels are significantly elevated in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Higher IL-16 correlates with increased SLE disease activity, suggesting it is a useful biomarker.

Background:

  • Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease.
