[Experimental skin replacement by means of absorbing alloplastic material]

In 15 rabbits skin defects of various size were induced. The defects were covered with blood-soaked Surgicel which at the margin was attached with Histoacryl adhesive. Gradually under this cover the epithelization proceeds. The authors recommend this emergency procedure in severe cases of burns of other extended skin injuries.
