Insights
Laser therapy and dalargin electrophoresis showed similar effectiveness to conventional chemotherapy for treating chronic gastroduodenitis and ulcers in children. Both methods effectively targeted Helicobacter pylori infections.
Area of Science:
- Gastroenterology
- Pediatrics
- Medical Technology
Background:
- Chronic gastroduodenitis and ulcers are common in children.
- Helicobacter pylori infection is a major contributing factor.
- Conventional chemotherapy is the standard treatment.
Observation:
- A study compared laser treatment and dalargin electrophoresis with conventional chemotherapy in 100 children.
- Patients had chronic gastroduodenitis and ulcer diagnoses.
- Outcomes were assessed via clinical, endoscopic, and specialized examinations.
Findings:
- Laser treatment and dalargin electrophoresis demonstrated comparable efficacy to conventional chemotherapy.
- Both treatment modalities were effective in managing chronic gastroduodenitis and ulcers.
- A significant finding was the comparable effectiveness against Helicobacter pylori.
Implications:
- Novel therapeutic options like laser therapy and dalargin electrophoresis may offer alternatives for pediatric patients.
- These findings suggest potential for less invasive or targeted treatments.
- Further research could explore long-term outcomes and cost-effectiveness.
Abstract:
100 children with chronic gastroduodenitis and ulcer received laser treatment and dalargin electrophoresis. The controls received conventional chemotherapy. The treatments demonstrated similar effectivity as shown by clinical, endoscopic and special examinations, against Helicobacter pylori, in particular.
