On call. I read last month's "On call" column about dietary guidelines and caloric percentages, but I'm not a math guy. Any chance you could put it in English for me?

Except for high cholesterol, I've always been pretty healthy for my age (72). But I recently started puffing on the stairs, so my doctor sent me for a set of tests. After the echocardiogram, he told me I had congestive heart failure. He gave me Lasix and I feel much better. But now he wants me to take at least three other pills every day. Do I need all of them if I feel well?

On call. I notice that many restaurants have gone back to serving butter with bread, and many of my wife's friends are as well. Is butter back on the "good" list?

On Call. I am a 67-year-old man, and I'm as healthy as anyone I know of my age. My first wife died four years ago. I remarried last year and have a wonderful relationship with my new wife. We have sexual relations about twice a wee,, and she seems to enjoy it. So do I, but I don't enjoy climax as much as with my first wife. Is it a mental thing, or do I have prostate problems? Would Viagra help?

On call. It seems that every time I turn on the TV (or pick up your newsletter), I'm getting advice about what I should eat. Do all these reminders do any good?

On call. My doctor prescribed Zestril for me because I have diabetes, even though my blood pressure has always been normal. I am 54, and my blood sugar came down to normal on pills. Do I really need another medicine?

On call. Breast cancer seems to run in my wife's family. She is healthy, I'm glad to say, but her mother died of it, and her sister needed surgery and chemo. Worst of all, our 44-year-old daughter just had a mastectomy and is waiting to hear if she needs more treatment. We also have two sons, ages 46 and 40. My question is, do they have anything to worry about?
