On call. I learned a lot from your article on melanoma, but I'm puzzled about one point. You suggest using sunscreen, but I read in my newspaper's health column that sunscreens may cause skin cancer. Should I use a sunscreen or not?H B Simon

On call. I've had my PSA tested every year since 1992 and I'm happy to say it's always been normal. But now my doctor doesn't want to do the test anymore because I'm 78 years old. Should I go to another doctor for my test?H B Simon

On call. My husband was just released from the hospital after a mild heart attack. He's never been much of a drinker, but now he wants to have wine with dinner every night. We've both heard that wine is good for the heart, but I'm worried that it may not be safe so soon after a heart attack. I hope you can either reassure me or restrain my husbandHarvey B Simon

My wife has very painful bunions. She is seeing a foot doctor, but if she needs an operation I'd like her to see my orthopedic surgeon. Do you think podiatrists should perform surgery?H B Simon

On call. I hope you can help me understand a troubling and embarrassing problem. I often find it difficult, sometimes even impossible, to pass my urine in a public men's room. I'm 41 years old, and I'm very healthy. I have no problem urinating at home, and I rarely get up at night. But last week I couldn't even urinate at a friend's house, and I had to go home early just to use the bathroom. What can you suggest?Harvey B Simon
