On call. I've been hearing a lot about C-reactive protein and heart attacks. I want to stay healthy, but I'm 73 years old, and there seems to be a new worry in every newspaper I read. At my age, does this protein make any difference?Harvey B Simon

On Call. I am a subscriber to Harvard Men's Health Watch, but I am writing about my wife, not myself. She's only 58 and she's always been healthy, but over the past year she's been bothered by shaking and trembling in her hands, particularly when she's pouring tea or eating dinner. Her doctor gave her a blood pressure pill, but she's never had high blood pressure. Does she have Parkinson's? Should I take her to a specialist?Harvey B Simon
Harvard Men'S Health Watch|July 27, 2004
On call. I developed severe ulcerative colitis in my late teens, and I had my entire colon and rectum removed at age 24. It was certainly worthwhile, since I adjusted easily and I've been healthy ever since. But now I'm 52, and I'm starting to think about prostate cancer. My doctor obviously can't do a rectal exam, and he doesn't want to do a PSA test because he says he won't be able to send me for a prostate biopsy if the test is high. Do I have any options?Harvey B Simon

On call. I'm a 62-year-old man in good health. I take Zocor for my cholesterol as well as a baby aspirin and several vitamins every day. My problem may seem silly, but it's really a nuisance: uncontrollable yawning. Do you have any idea why I yawn so much or what I can do about it?Harvey B Simon
