Harvard Men'S Health Watch|October 16, 1999
On call. My husband subscribes to Harvard Men's Health Watch, but I read the newsletter as much as he does. I'm writing to ask about our son who just made his college lacrosse team. I remember reading about a lacrosse player in your area who died during a game. Is lacrosse safe for our boy?H B Simon
Harvard Men'S Health Watch|May 8, 1999
I am married to a 63-year-old accountant who subscribes to the Harvard Men's Health Watch. My husband had a small heart attack last winter. He feels fine now, but he has to take five pills a day. He's back to his golf, and when he doesn't play he walks two miles a day. But he insists on mowing the lawn himself, pushing a heavy mower, and I'm worried. What do you think?H B Simon

On call. As a physician, I find Harvard Men's Health Watch very helpful for my patients and as a 63-year-old man, I find it interesting and helpful for myself. But I'm puzzled by your November 2001 article, which recommends two drinks a day as the safe maximum. I remember reading an editorial in The Lancet a few years ago that recommended up to 25 drinks a week, or three a day. Which dose of alcohol is correct?H B Simon
Harvard Men'S Health Watch|November 4, 2000
On call. I've always been completely healthy. At my last check-up, my cholesterol was 295. I'm worried, but my doctor tells me I don't need treatment. What do you suggest?H B Simon
Harvard Men'S Health Watch|May 16, 2000
On call. I always undress before I weigh myself at home, but when my doctor weighs me, he doesn't even let me take off my shoes. Wouldn't it be better if I undress first?H B Simon
