On call. I am 62 years old and I've always been very healthy. At my last annual checkup, however, my blood pressure was 166/96. My doctor told me to cut down on drinking to lower my pressure. I usually have a cocktail or two before dinner and two or three glasses of wine with my meal. Is my doctor right?

On call. I really enjoy eating nuts but I've been told to avoid cashews (my favorites) because they have too much saturated fat. Is it true?

I am a 54-year-old man with a history of kidney stones. My doctor recently sent me for a "spiral CT scan." What is the difference between a spiral scan and a regular CT scan?

I am a 46-year-old man with hypertension. I recently started taking Inderal for my blood pressure. I feel fine and my pressure is way down, but I can no longer get my pulse up when I work out on my treadmill or bike. Does that mean I won't benefit from exercise anymore?

Ask the doctor: I just got a new pair of soft contact lenses. They are very comfortable, and my ophthalmologist told me I can keep them in for a week. I'd like to wear them all the time, but I'm not sure it's safe. What do you think?

On call. I've always been healthy, but last year, when I was 60, my PSA was a little high (4.2). This year it was 4.8; my free PSA was good (28%) but I had a prostate biopsy. I don't have cancer, but I have something called "PIN" and my doctor wants me to have another biopsy next year no matter what my PSA shows. What's going on?
