By the way doctor... I'm 72 and was recently told that I am losing a bit of my sight because of macular degeneration. My doctor assured me that it was progressing very slowly, but also said there wasn't really anything to do about it. But I read that zinc or vitamins might help. Should I be taking them?Thomas H Lee

I take Zocor for high cholesterol. My doctor checks my lipid levels every six months and they have been pretty good for a few years now. But he also checks my liver-function tests, because liver damage is one of the side effects of this drug. How worried should I be about this problem, and is checking my liver tests every six months often enough?T H Lee
