By the way, doctor... I'm 70. I took hormone therapy for a while after menopause, but stopped taking it long ago. My memory definitely isn't as good as it used to be. If I started taking estrogen again, would my memory improve?T H Lee

By the way, doctor... Exercise: nothing to fear. I'm 62, pretty trim, but I don't particularly enjoy exercise. My wife keeps telling me I need to be more physically active. But I've heard of several people who died during or shortly after exercise. If I don't need to lose weight, why should I expose myself to danger doing something I don't enjoy?T H Lee

By the way, doctor...I'm a few years past menopause, and I take a statin because of high cholesterol. My doctor has broached the subject of whether I might need to take something else to lower my risk for osteoporosis, but I've read that statins help prevent that problem. Can't I tell the doctor I don't need another pill?T H Lee

Ask the doctor. I recently found out I have atrial fibrillation. My doctor wants me to take a blood thinner for a while and then have cardioversion. But I'll be away from home for a few months, so I'd like to hold off on the cardioversion until I get back. My doctor doesn't want me to delay. Why can't it wait?T H Lee

By the way, doctor... I don't know whether to start hormone-replacement therapy. I'm having a terrible time with hot flashes, but I'm worried about the risk for ovarian and breast cancer. What should I do?T H Lee
