El análisis del ADN mitocondrial de un neandertal del Cáucaso de hace 29.000 años revela distintos tipos genéticos. Este hallazgo sugiere que el ADN mitocondrial neandertal no contribuyó al acervo genético humano moderno, desafiando algunas teorías de la evolución humana.
