Resumen

El deterioro de la función del transportador de la cassette A1 de unión al ATP (ABCA1) reduce el eflujo de colesterol celular, lo que lleva a un menor colesterol HDL y un mayor espesor de la pared arterial. Mejorar el eflujo de colesterol puede prevenir la progresión de la aterosclerosis.
