Sus antecedentes:

  • El modelo de la zona de progreso (ZP) ha sido durante mucho tiempo la teoría predominante para el desarrollo de las extremidades de los vertebrados.
  • Este modelo postula que las células mesenquimales proliferan en la PZ debajo de la cresta ectodérmica apical (AER).
  • Se cree que los destinos celulares se especifican en función de la duración del tiempo que las células pasan dentro de la PZ.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Evaluar la validez del modelo de la zona de progreso (ZP) en el desarrollo de las extremidades de los vertebrados.
  • Para investigar el papel de la cresta ectodérmica apical (AER) en la especificación de los destinos de las células proximidistas.
  • Presentar nuevos hallazgos que desafíen el modelo establecido de PZ.

Principales métodos:
