La función pulmonar reducida, medida por la Capacidad Vital Forzada (FVC, por sus siglas en inglés), está relacionada con niveles más altos de proteínas sensibles a la inflamación. Esta asociación explica en parte el aumento del riesgo de enfermedad cardiovascular en individuos con baja CVF.
