La evidencia paleosísmica revela un terremoto masivo en el centro-este de Nepal alrededor del año 1100 d.C. Este gran terremoto, con un desplazamiento significativo de la superficie, puede requerir revisiones a los modelos de riesgo sísmico del Himalaya.
