Cells undergoing apoptosis form apoptotic bodies that must be removed immediately to prevent inflammation, autoimmune diseases, and necrosis. The concept of a cell started with microscopic observations of dead cork tissue by Robert Hooke in 1665. Resumen

Los feocromocitomas son tumores neuroendocrinos poco comunes. El diagnóstico precoz y la extirpación quirúrgica de estos tumores conducen a un excelente pronóstico, pero la enfermedad metastásica tiene un pronóstico pobre.

Sus antecedentes:

  • Los feocromocitomas son tumores neuroendocrinos raros con diversos síntomas clínicos, que a menudo incluyen dolores de cabeza, sudoración, palpitaciones y hipertensión.
  • Las complicaciones cardiovasculares surgen de la secreción de catecolaminas potentes por estos tumores.
  • Las pruebas son cruciales para pacientes sintomáticos, incidentomas suprarrenales y aquellos con predisposiciones genéticas como las mutaciones MEN2, VHL, NF1 o SDH.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Para resumir la presentación clínica, los enfoques de diagnóstico y el manejo de los feocromocitomas.
  • Para resaltar la importancia del diagnóstico oportuno y el tratamiento para los resultados del paciente.

Principales métodos:

  • Pruebas bioquímicas para los metabolitos de las catecolaminas.
  • La localización mediante técnicas de imagen como la TC, la RM y ligandos funcionales como el (123) I-MIBG.
  • Manejo preoperatorio para bloquear los efectos de las catecolaminas.
  • La extirpación laparoscópica del tumor como el enfoque quirúrgico preferido.

Principales resultados:

  • La eliminación oportuna del feocromocitoma da como resultado un excelente pronóstico.
  • La enfermedad metastásica, particularmente de tumores grandes y extraadrenales, se asocia con un mal pronóstico.

Conclusiones:

  • La detección temprana y la intervención quirúrgica son clave para obtener resultados favorables en el manejo del feocromocitoma.
  • La metástasis representa un desafío significativo, lo que subraya la necesidad de estrategias integrales de diagnóstico y tratamiento.
