Este estudio revisó los instrumentos para evaluar la enseñanza de la práctica basada en la evidencia (EBP, por sus siglas en inglés). Sus antecedentes:

  • La práctica basada en la evidencia (EBP) integra la evidencia de la investigación, los valores del paciente y las circunstancias clínicas para la toma de decisiones.
  • La enseñanza efectiva de EBP requiere una evaluación guiada por la evidencia de su propia eficacia.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Evaluar y resumir sistemáticamente los instrumentos existentes para evaluar la enseñanza de la práctica basada en la evidencia (EBP).

Principales métodos:

  • Se realizó una búsqueda exhaustiva de la literatura en múltiples bases de datos (MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINAHL, HAPI, ERIC) y otras fuentes.
  • Dos evaluadores independientes extrajeron datos sobre el desarrollo de instrumentos, formato, niveles de aprendizaje, dominios de evaluación, factibilidad, confiabilidad y validez.
  • Los instrumentos se clasificaron en tres niveles basados en las pruebas psicométricas y la idoneidad para fines de evaluación.

Principales resultados:

  • Se incluyeron 115 artículos que representan 104 instrumentos únicos, evaluando principalmente las habilidades de EBP en estudiantes de medicina y aprendices.
  • La adquisición y evaluación de evidencia fueron habilidades comúnmente evaluadas, con instrumentos más nuevos que evalúan la formulación de preguntas y su aplicación a la atención al paciente.
  • Mientras que el 53% de los instrumentos mostraron alguna evidencia de validez, solo el 10% demostró tres o más tipos; se identificaron instrumentos de alta calidad para la competencia, la efectividad del plan de estudios y los resultados conductuales.

Conclusiones:

  • Hay instrumentos válidos disponibles para evaluar ámbitos específicos del EBP y pueden adaptarse a diferentes necesidades de evaluación.
  • Se requiere más investigación y desarrollo de instrumentos para evaluar efectivamente las actitudes, comportamientos y habilidades avanzadas de EBP.
