Objetivo del estudio:

  • Para investigar el papel de los macrófagos de los ganglios linfáticos en la activación de las células B.
  • Para dilucidar el mecanismo de presentación del antígeno in vivo.

Principales métodos:

  • Se utilizó microscopía intravital multifotónica para observar los ganglios linfáticos de ratones.
  • El comportamiento de los macrófagos y las células B se analizó en tiempo real.

Principales resultados:

  • Se observaron macrófagos en el seno subcapsular de los ganglios linfáticos recogiendo antígeno nativo.
  • Se descubrió que estos macrófagos facilitan la activación de las células B.

Conclusiones:

  • Los macrófagos sinusales subcapsulares juegan un papel crítico en el inicio de la inmunidad adaptativa mediante la presentación de antígenos nativos a las células B.
  • Este mecanismo es vital para la inducción temprana de la inmunidad adquirida.
