Resumen
Las variaciones comunes del número de copias (CNV) están relacionadas con el riesgo de neuroblastoma. Se identificó una VNC específica en el cromosoma 1q21.1 como un factor de riesgo hereditario para este cáncer infantil.

Sus antecedentes:
- Las variaciones del número de copias (CNV) contribuyen a la diversidad genética, pero su papel en la susceptibilidad a las enfermedades, particularmente en los cánceres humanos, no se comprende completamente.
- El neuroblastoma, un cáncer infantil, tiene una susceptibilidad conocida influenciada por variaciones de polimorfismo de un solo nucleótido.
Objetivo del estudio:

- Validación utilizando PCR cuantitativa, FISH, análisis de muestras de tumores y evaluación de la heredabilidad en tríos madre-hijo.
Principales resultados:
- Una VNC común en el cromosoma 1q21.1 se asoció significativamente con el riesgo de neuroblastoma en los conjuntos de descubrimiento y replicación.
- Esta CNV fue validada y se confirmó que es hereditaria.
- Se identificó una nueva transcripción, NBPF23, dentro de la CNV, que muestra expresión preferencial en los tejidos neurales fetales y correlación con el estado de la CNV.
Conclusiones:
- La variación del número de copias heredadas en 1q21.1 se asocia con la susceptibilidad al neuroblastoma.
- El gen NBPF23 recientemente identificado juega un papel en la tumorigénesis temprana de este cáncer infantil.
