Resumen
La placenta sintetiza serotonina (5-hidroxitriptamina o 5-HT) a partir del triptófano materno, influyendo directamente en el desarrollo del cerebro fetal y la salud mental a largo plazo. Esta vía placentaria es una fuente clave de 5-HT embrionario.
