Este estudio visualiza la síntesis de ADN mediante el seguimiento de la formación de enlaces fosfodiéster utilizando cristalografía de rayos X con resolución temporal. Se identificaron pasos clave, incluida la coordinación de iones metálicos y la conversión de nucleófilos, como factores limitantes de la velocidad en la polimerización del ADN.
