Una nueva isoforma Dicer (Dicer(O)) en óvulos de ratón impulsa la biogénesis de ARN pequeño, crucial para la fertilidad femenina. Esta es la isoforma.

- Dicer(O) procesa eficientemente el ARNd largo en ARN pequeños, a diferencia de Dicer(S).
- La eliminación del promotor intrónico del retrotransposón MT-C, que impulsa la expresión de Dicer, conduce a la pérdida de Dicer, la esterilidad femenina, los defectos del huso meiótico y el aumento de las dianas endo-siRNA.
Conclusiones:
- La isoforma Dicer(O) específica del ovocito es el principal impulsor del RNAi endógeno en la línea germinal hembra del ratón.
- Dicer (O) juega un papel crítico en el desarrollo de los ovocitos y el mantenimiento de la integridad genómica.
