Sus antecedentes:

  • Las actividades humanas están acelerando los cambios evolutivos, lo que plantea una doble amenaza: la rápida evolución de organismos perjudiciales (cánceres, patógenos, plagas) y la lenta adaptación en especies valiosas.
  • Estos desajustes evolutivos tienen un impacto en la salud global, la seguridad alimentaria y la conservación de la biodiversidad.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Revisar el progreso e identificar las brechas en las estrategias aplicadas de biología evolutiva.
  • Para resaltar los métodos que manipulan las tasas evolutivas o reducir los desajustes ecológicos en entornos alterados por el hombre.

Principales métodos:

  • Revisión de las estrategias de manipulación genética, del desarrollo y del medio ambiente.
  • Análisis de enfoques dirigidos a las trayectorias evolutivas y las interacciones organismo-ambiente.

Principales resultados:

  • Se han logrado avances significativos en la aplicación de los principios evolutivos para abordar los desafíos ambientales inducidos por el hombre.
  • Quedan vacíos en el desarrollo y la aplicación generalizada de estas herramientas evolutivas.

Conclusiones:

  • La biología evolutiva aplicada ofrece estrategias cruciales para mitigar los impactos humanos en el planeta.
  • Un mayor desarrollo e implementación de estas herramientas son esenciales para lograr los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible.
