La enfermedad hepática grasa no alcohólica (NAFLD, por sus siglas en inglés) perjudica la inmunidad antitumoral mediante la reducción de las células T CD4+, acelerando el cáncer de hígado. La restauración de estas células mediante el bloqueo de especies reactivas del oxígeno (ROS) retrasa el crecimiento del carcinoma hepatocelular (HCC).
