Un nuevo complejo de corrol de germanio, [TPFC]Ge]+, exhibe una potente reactividad electrofílica, formando fácilmente adutos de fenilo, etilfenilo y propilfenilo con hidrocarburos aromáticos y alifáticos. Esta reactividad proviene de su estructura electrónica única y su centro de germanio deficiente en electrones.

- El catión [{TPFC) Ge]{+} muestra una reactividad electrofílica significativa hacia los hidrocarburos.
- La reactividad se atribuye al centro de germanio catiónico expuesto y al ligando de corrol que retira electrones.
- El estudio proporciona información sobre la reactividad fundamental de los electrófilos basados en germanio.
