El ARN circulatorio circHIPK3 está regulado al alza en la diabetes, promoviendo la disfunción vascular de la retina mediante la inhibición de la miR-30a. La orientación de circHIPK3 puede ofrecer un nuevo tratamiento para la retinopatía diabética.
