  • La toma de decisiones se basa en el valor subjetivo, formado a través de la experiencia.
  • El cerebro debe codificar y mantener el valor subjetivo para una toma de decisiones efectiva.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Investigar la especificidad de área y la plasticidad de la codificación de valores en la corteza.
  • Determinar el papel de las áreas corticales específicas en la codificación de señales de valor e historial.

Principales métodos:

  • Ratones entrenados en una tarea de decisión basada en valores.
  • Actividad neuronal en 6 áreas corticales con resolución celular.
  • Utilizó la inactivación aguda de la corteza retrosplenial (RSC).

Principales resultados:

  • Las señales relacionadas con la historia y el valor fueron generalizadas, pero variaron en fuerza y patrones temporales en todas las áreas corticales.
  • La corteza retrosplenial (RSC) codificaba de manera única las señales relacionadas con la historia y el valor con patrones de actividad persistentes en ratones expertos.
  • La codificación única de RSC surgió durante el aprendizaje, con un aumento de las señales para el historial de recompensas distantes.
  • La inactivación de RSC deterioró selectivamente las estrategias de decisión basadas en el historial de recompensa.

Conclusiones:

  • La corteza retrosplenial (RSC) juega un papel crítico en la actualización flexible de la codificación de la historia.
  • RSC codifica persistentemente las señales relacionadas con el valor para apoyar la toma de decisiones adaptativas.
  • Los circuitos neuronales en la corteza muestran plasticidad en la representación de señales de valor e historia.
