Se logró una nueva síntesis asimétrica total de (-) vinigrol utilizando una estrategia libre de grupos protectores. Este enfoque construyó de manera eficiente el núcleo complejo de 1,5-butanodecahidronaftaleno a través de una cascada de cicloadición y contracción de anillos [5+2].
