The ability of a drug to produce structural deformations and functional abnormalities in the developing embryo or the fetus is called teratogenicity, and the drug producing this effect is known as a teratogen. Sus antecedentes:

La endometriosis es un trastorno crónico caracterizado por el tejido endometrial fuera del útero, lo que lleva a una carga socioeconómica significativa.
Su desarrollo implica factores genéticos, hormonales, inmunológicos y células progenitoras endometriales.
El dolor crónico, la neuroinflamación, los cambios en el sistema nervioso central (SNC) y la infertilidad son características de la enfermedad.

Objetivo del estudio:

Proporcionar una visión global de la endometriosis, abarcando su fisiopatología, manifestaciones clínicas y limitaciones terapéuticas actuales.

Principales métodos:

Revisión de la literatura existente sobre la endometriosis.
Análisis de los factores que contribuyen al desarrollo de la lesión.
Examen de la relación entre la endometriosis, el dolor, la neuroinflamación y la infertilidad.

Principales resultados:

La endometriosis está relacionada con factores etiológicos complejos que incluyen genética, hormonas y respuestas inmunes.
La neuroinflamación y las alteraciones del SNC son componentes clave del dolor asociado a la endometriosis.
Existe una asociación significativa entre la endometriosis y la infertilidad femenina.

Conclusiones:

La endometriosis es un trastorno multifacético con terapias actuales inadecuadas.
Se necesitan más investigaciones para entender los intrincados mecanismos y desarrollar tratamientos efectivos.
