El factor de crecimiento endotelial vascular B (VEGF-B) promueve el crecimiento de nuevos vasos coronarios del endocardio durante el desarrollo y ayuda a la recuperación después de un ataque cardíaco. El tratamiento con VEGF-B puede mejorar la función cardíaca después del infarto de miocardio.
