Resumen

Una nueva cerámica celular logra un enfriamiento radiativo pasivo con un 99,6% de reflectividad solar y una alta emisividad térmica. Este material duradero ofrece un importante potencial de ahorro de energía para aplicaciones generalizadas, especialmente en la construcción de edificios.

Sus antecedentes:

  • Las estructuras nanofotónicas existentes son caras y difíciles de integrar, mientras que las alternativas poliméricas se degradan y reflejan mal.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Desarrollar un nuevo material de refrigeración radiativa pasiva con mejor rendimiento y durabilidad.
  • Superar las limitaciones de las actuales tecnologías de refrigeración radiativa para aplicaciones prácticas.

Principales métodos:

  • Desarrollo de una estructura cerámica celular diseñada para la dispersión de alta luz.
  • Caracterización de la reflectividad solar, la emisividad térmica y el rendimiento de refrigeración de la cerámica.
  • Evaluación de las propiedades del material, incluidos el color, la resistencia a la intemperie, la robustez mecánica y la supresión del efecto Leidenfrost.

Principales resultados:

  • La cerámica celular desarrollada exhibe una reflectividad solar casi perfecta (99,6%) y una alta emisividad térmica.
  • Se consigue un enfriamiento subambiental continuo con una potencia de enfriamiento superior a 130 W/m2 bajo la luz solar directa.
  • Demostró una excelente resistencia a la intemperie, robustez mecánica y suprimió el efecto Leidenfrost.

Conclusiones:

  • La cerámica celular ofrece una solución duradera y versátil para el enfriamiento radiativo pasivo.
  • El rendimiento y las propiedades del material facilitan su comercialización, especialmente para la construcción de edificios.
  • Esta tecnología presenta un importante potencial mundial de ahorro de energía a través de soluciones de refrigeración eficientes.
