Resumen

Se encontraron filamentos anormales de proteínas priónicas, que forman placas amiloides, en los cerebros de hámsters infectados con scrapie. Estos filamentos de proteína, compuestos por PrP 27-30, se acumulan extracelularmente, ofreciendo información sobre la patología de la enfermedad priónica.
